SoDevX ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our mobile application.
Information We Collect
SoExpense is designed with strict privacy in mind. All your financial data (expenses, categories, budgets, savings goals, recurring expenses), generated backups, daily challenges, and analytics are stored locally on your device using SQLite. We do not collect, transmit, sync, or store any of your personal data on external servers. We simply do not have access to it.
Advertising
We use Google AdMob to display advertisements. Third-party vendors, including Google, use device identifiers or cookies to serve ads based on your prior use of this app or other apps/websites. Google's use of advertising identifiers enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your usage data. You can opt out of personalized advertising in your device settings (e.g., by resetting your advertising ID) or by reviewing Google's Privacy & Terms.
Local Notifications
SoExpense uses local notifications to send reminders and alerts. These notifications are generated entirely on your device and do not involve any external services. You can enable or disable notifications at any time in the app settings.
Data Storage & Backups
All data is stored locally on your device. We do not have access to your data, and it is not backed up to any cloud service by us. While you can export your data (CSV) or create local database backups through the app's features, these files remain on your device unless you explicitly share or move them. If you uninstall the app or clear the app data without a manual backup, all locally stored data will be permanently deleted.
Third-Party Services
The app uses the following third-party services:
- Google AdMob — for displaying advertisements
- Google Fonts — for typography (fetched at runtime)
- Share Services — native device share sheets for exporting your data or sharing the app
These services have their own privacy policies that govern the use of your information.
Children's Privacy
SoExpense does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app is intended for general audiences.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected within the app. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
